Firm bolsters its sports roster with Liverpool County FA contract

HR, employment law and health and safety consultancy, Howarths, has secured a three-year consultancy contract with Liverpool County Football Association.

The contract will see the West Yorkshire-based firm guide the Liverpool County FA on the evolving employment law changes linked to the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as ongoing support with human resources and people management issues.

The contract takes the firm’s total football association clients to 11.

In April, the company announced it had been appointed to work with Birmingham, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire and Staffordshire football associations.

Gavin Howarth, managing director at Howarths, said: “Navigating the constantly evolving legislation around HR and employment law as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic is tough for many of the county FAs, that do not have the experience required in-house.

“To allow them to focus on doing what they do best and nurture grass roots football in their respective regions across the UK, we have been working closely with a growing list of county FAs.

“We’re helping them navigate areas including the Job Retention Scheme and to identify what can be done to safeguard both organisations and their staff during this period.”
