Jewellery design studio on track for further growth

Jessica Flinn, a Sheffield-based jewellery design studio specialising in unusual diamond and gemstone rings, is celebrating 10 years in business with increasing sales, an expanding team and a profitable new sister brand.

During the pandemic Jessica Allen, the founder of Jessica Flinn, focused her efforts online.

Capitalising on changing consumer behaviour during lockdown, the Jessica Flinn brand saw a surge in online sales, reporting its most successful three months to date – 335% up on 2019.

Jessica Allen also worked alongside her husband, Ollie Allen, to launch Sheffield Steel Rings; a sister brand specialising in steel and damascus wedding rings.

Four months on this is already profitable, turning over five figures each month.

In recent months the company’s team has doubled with the appointment of Emma Fathers as design assistant, Hayley Toothill-Taylor as marketing manager and Amy Hubert as jewellery administrator.

As the brands continue to grow, they hope to create a further four local jobs in the coming months.

Jessica Allen said: “Before lockdown began I was ready to move my face to face engagement, wedding and ceremonial ring services online.

“Lockdown gave me the push I needed to take the plunge, and to diversify by working with my husband to create a new brand.

“It’s enabled us to reach customers we otherwise wouldn’t have across the UK.

“Creating new jobs, and appointing people affected by the crisis is the cherry on our 10th birthday cake.”
