Bradford-based Kings has taken over Silver Group, which supplies fire safety systems across the South East and East of England from its Luton headquarters.

Kings is a £30m-turnover group employing around 450 people and the deal will provide capacity for it to compete in the fire and security sector “at pace and scale”, according to chief executive Bob Forsyth.

He said: “KST has been a leader in the fire and security sector for over 50 years – our proposed acquisition of Silver Group will further expand this position.

“This combination has tremendous benefits for both companies, our customers, and the industry.”

The deal sees the exit of Silver Group founder Sergio De Michele, who founded the business in 2003. Commercial director Mario Vaianella will lead the business, which will remain in Luton.

Vaianella said: “We look forward to building even better services in the future for our customers, with the backing of Kings’ resources and reach.

“Moving forward, we expect to combine our core strengths with Kings’ deep industry expertise in verticals like financial services, utilities, public sector and datacentres.”

Kings was advised on the acquisition by Squire Patton Boggs’ Leeds Office, led by senior associate, Louise Parker and partner, Paul Mann.
