Agency round up: Lucky North; Perfect Storm and KC Communications

Leeds-based PR specialist agency, Lucky North has won a major new client and added Ilkley-based composite decking manufacturer Composite Prime to its growing client portfolio.

The agency will work with Composite Prime on a retained basis delivering against a brief that covers trade PR, consumer PR and influencer management to position the brand and its premium products as the best sustainable choice for consumers and trade stockists.

Charles Taylor, sales director at Composite Prime, said: “Right from the outset the team at Lucky North understood our values. Digital agency Perfect Storm is celebrating winning two major new pieces of business in the last quarter.

The Leeds-based agency has been appointed by Retirement Villages Group, following a competitive pitch against London and Manchester agencies. The sizeable six-figure account will see Perfect Storm develop a digital strategy, new website, SEO, social media and paid media, as part of a wider growth and repositioning exercise by Retirement Villages Group. which has ambitious expansion plans for the next 10 years.

The agency has also been appointed to deliver a six figure brief by Coryton Advanced Fuels which will initially see them help with brand development and a new website.

As a result of these wins Perfect Storm is currently looking to recruit two new digital producers to help bolster the team.

Huddersfield based PR and marketing agency, KC Communications has been named a regional finalist in the employer category of the National Apprenticeship Awards.

Now in their 17th year, the National Apprenticeship Awards showcase the diverse and growing range of sectors engaged with apprenticeships. The awards celebrate employers who fire up their business with apprenticeships, outstanding apprentices who blaze their own trail, and individuals who champion apprenticeships with passion.

KC Communications was founded in 2014 by Katrina Cliffe, who began her career as a business administration apprentice working for design agency, ATTIK. Since founding her own business, a number of apprentices have kickstarted their careers with the agency and currently employs two members of staff going through the digital marketing apprenticeship with training provider, Estio.

Commenting on the shortlist, managing director Katrina Cliffe said: “Having begun my career as an apprentice I understand first hand the positive impact apprenticeships can have on an individual’s career prospects.
