Interiors business to expand online

Richard Grafton Interiors, a Yorkshire-based interior, architecture and design firm is looking to take its style to designers and homeowners across the rest of the UK with the launch of a new e-commerce site in the wake of shopping restrictions as a result of the current pandemic.

The new site, designed and built by Thynne Creative in Ilkley, has been project managed by Charlotte Grafton, brand manager at Richard Grafton Interiors, who returned to the family business 12 months ago after working as a buyer for Harrods.

Grqfton said: “With the physical stores continuing to thrive, enhancing our online offering and creating an e-commerce platform was the natural next step.

“Not only have we taken the opportunity to freshen up the website, we also wanted to give customers the option of shopping with us remotely, giving them the feel of being in one of our stylish showrooms from the comfort of their own home.”

The £40,000 investment follows what the firm’s managing director Richard Grafton says was a “a marked increase in interest in interiors” as a result of the first lockdown.

The business reported a busy summer when its showrooms were allowed to reopen but knew they “needed to accelerate our plans for an online shop” in the face of possible further lockdowns.

This latest investment follows a delayed opening of the firm’s Wetherby showroom this year, although it has reportedly outperformed targets since it was able to open.

Richard Grafton added: “As a business, we pride ourselves on our ability to constantly adapt and improve. We believe our latest investment in an e-commerce platform will complement our bricks-and-mortar stores, encompassing the full range of products across our three showrooms while offering customers the convenience of being able to shop from their own home.”
