Net Zero North: How the powerhouse can fuel a green revolution

The North is renowned as the home of the Industrial Revolution but now, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson having set out a 10-point plan for a Green Industrial Revolution, there is the opportunity to lead the way in the new economy.

With parts of the region having already been ambitious with their Net Zero targets, and local climate commissions pulling together a unified approach, this webinar from TheBusinessDesk.com in partnership with international law firm CMS, will look at the role the North can play following the Government’s pledge £12bn of investment into the sector.

Attendees will hear from an expert panel including Torbjørg Klara Fossum from Norwegian energy firm Equinor, which is working on a variety of renewable projects across the North, and ITM Power’s Andy Allen, which is manufacturing hydrogen energy solutions from its Sheffield base.

Together with Myles Kitcher from Peel Environmental, which runs the strategic energy and resource hub Protos in Cheshire, Dr Annette Bramley, director of N8 Research Partnership who is leading on the group’s Net Zero North project, and Helen Boyle from Cadent Gas who has been instrumental in leading plans for decarbonising the North West, the panel will discuss how the events of 2020 have accelerated the approach to Net Zero and the transformational opportunities it presents for the decades ahead.

This event will take place at 9.30 on 15 December and is free to attend, simply register now to secure your place at the webinar.
