New home for builders’ merchant, as it outgrows current base

Builders’ Merchant Company has confirmed its move within Hull to a new location at Sutton Fields Industrial Estate, by spring 2021.

The relocation comes as a result of the company’s growth over the past few years, which has seen it expand and now employ 35 people.

Its success has led to its turnover rise to more than £9m, with a significantly larger customer base.

The business is now shifting its operations to a new, state-of-the-art offices and larger warehousing facilities.

It explains the move will allow it to progress with its positive business plans for further development.

Managing director Duncan Thomson said: “The relocation of our operation to Amsterdam Road within Sutton Fields Industrial Estate is the beginning of an exciting year for us in 2021.

“We continue to go from strength to strength within the builders’ merchant world. Quite simply, we have outgrown our existing premises and this move is an exciting new progressive development for us.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, as it is their business development that has allowed us to do this.”

The company is moving from 22 Gothenburg Way, Hull HU7 0YG to Unit 2, Amsterdam Road, Sutton Fields Industrial Estate.

Its new site extends to 0.68 hectares (1.68 acres) and includes a 30,000 sq ft warehouse.
