40,000 sq ft industrial premises acquired for £4.1m by property investor

Eddisons has acquired a new-build industrial accommodation called Foundry Park, in Keighley, on behalf of property investment business Malco Holdings.

The 40,000 sq ft business unit, on a former Keighley College site acquired from Bradford Council and Homes England, was developed by Dalton Lane Properties and completed in August 2020 after delays in construction caused by the first lockdown.

Foundry Park, which was constructed by Bradford-based Stainforth Construction as two semi-detached units on a two-acre site, is occupied on a 15-year lease by manufacturer Platinum Stairlifts, at a £253,500 annual rent.

With a local workforce of over 200 people, Platinum Stairlifts is one of Keighley’s largest employers.

The growing business has consolidated what was previously a multi-site operation onto the single site at Foundry Park.

Eddisons partner, Steve Hawkins, said: “Dalton Lane Properties has speculatively developed an excellent site at Foundry Lane, based on the strength of the Keighley industrial market.

“Platinum Stairlifts’ relocation to the 40,000 sq ft unit has retained over 200 jobs in Keighley and because of Dalton Lane’s high level of investment in the building, they were prepared to commit to a long-term lease.

“Malco Holdings has secured a great investment opportunity with guaranteed growth.”

Dalton Lane Properties was represented in the deal by Brackenridge Hanson Tate.
