Mayoral frontrunners to go head-to-head in studio debate

The two front-runners to become the first metro-mayor of West Yorkshire will go head-to-head on the key issues in a live debate tomorrow.

The Labour candidate Tracy Brabin MP and Conservative candidate Cllr Matthew Robinson will be together live in a studio for the live-streamed event at 2pm on April 29 – exactly one week before election day. Click here to register to watch the debate.

The mayoral debate is being hosted by TheBusinessDesk.com, the Northern Powerhouse Partnership and Production Park.

Alex Turner, joint managing director of TheBusinessDesk.com, who will moderate the debate, said: “Last month we hosted a hustings with four of the main candidates in West Yorkshire.

“Now, with the election so close, we are focusing on the two candidates who are expected to gather the lion’s share of the votes next week to ensure voters can be well-informed to make their choice.”

This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure that the views of West Yorkshire communities are presented to the first Mayor for our area so register below for the opportunity to be part of the debate.

The debate will be split into three sections:

– Economic Recovery and Transport

– Skills, Education and Culture

– Communities and the Environment

Click here to register for the hustings event this Thursday afternoon, and submit a question you would like to ask the candidates.
