Agency roundup: SOUP.; Prohibition; Journey Further; and more

Digital marketing agency SOUP. is celebrating a significant period of growth after a year of new client wins, team appointments and industry recognition.

Revenue at the Sheffield-based agency has increased by 380% and its team has grown from five to 27 during the pandemic.

Founded by entrepreneur Amanda Perry in 2018, SOUP. supports clients with performance marketing, content creation, and influencer outreach.

Its team specialises in scaling e-commerce brands quickly and sustainably through the power of paid social. It works with global brands including Heineken, Hewlett & Co, Infini London, Lucy Locket Loves and Pocket Sport.

Perry said: “The past year has certainly been one to remember and I didn’t expect us to grow as quickly as we have.

“It’s been so fantastic to create jobs and welcome new team members on board. Everyone has embraced remote working so well, but it’s great to be back together, seeing the team create magic for our clients.”

Having scaled and sold three businesses prior to setting up SOUP., Perry is an expert in digital marketing and an investor in several UK-based businesses.

She added: “We’ve been operating in the digital marketing scene for several years but have really seen scale-up brands embrace paid social over the past 12 months.

“Before now, many saw it as a nice-to-have but when done right, and backed by insight and market research, paid social is such a powerful tool for growth.

“As more consumers moved to online shopping during lockdown, our clients have seen first-hand that it really is the most cost-effective way to drive sales.”

Leeds-based integrated PR agency, Prohibition, has won a PR and influencer marketing brief from Kurt Geiger-owned fashion brand, Carvela, to support the opening of its new store in the Victoria Quarter, Leeds.

Launching with a new tagline – For Generation Fearless – the store is the brand’s first outside London, taking advantage of Leeds’ status as one of the UK’s best shopping destinations.

Prohibition’s PR and influencer campaign will see the agency introduce the Carvela brand to a range of inspiring and powerful women across the city who share its values, and epitomise the Generation Fearless tagline.

As part of the project, Prohibition will also create influencer experiences for Carvela’s sister brand, Kurt Geiger, helping to driving brand awareness for the store’s relocation in the Victoria Quarter.

Will Ockenden, director and joint owner at Prohibition, said: “This project is a really exciting one for the team – welcoming a new, incredibly inspirational brand to the city.

“Our approach to the brief was certainly not your typical influencer outreach campaign – we wanted to target women who have created a real stir in the city – from entrepreneurs, magazine editors and solicitors, though to those that have stood out due to their own support of women or to champion causes such a mental health.

“Our regional PR campaign will also support this approach, introducing the media to the store and showcasing the new season collection.

“We have extensive luxury and premium brand experience at Prohibition, and we are thrilled to add Kurt Geiger and Carvela to the list.”

Digital marketing agency Brand Ambition has welcomed two new starters to the business, as it responds to growing demand.

Digital marketing executives Dylan Comyn and Myles Doncaster have joined the Leeds and Belfast-based agency after a number of new business wins and additional projects for existing clients.

Their arrival has increased the headcount at Brand Ambition to six. It is a significant milestone for the business which has increased in size from two when it was launched in September last year.

The pair will work across the agency’s SEO, design, PR, content and social media offerings, supporting managing director Sam Raife, creative director Robin Hetherington and PR and content manager Pete Finnegan.

Comyn joins from Yorkshire online retailer Sportshoes.com where he was a digital marketing executive. He played an important role in helping maintain online content for the retailer’s website, with increased demand during the three national lockdowns.

Doncaster brings a range of experience from his role as digital marketing and ecommerce executive at an online retailer, where he worked extensively on a new website and SEO for the company.

Brand Ambition managing director, Sam Raife, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Dylan and Myles to the team as we invest in the next generation of digital talent – something that is extremely important to us as a business.

“It’s such a crucial time for us as an agency as we continue to grow. We’ve seen a real increase in demand for what we do, with SMEs in particular really investing in their SEO, design and PR as we continue to emerge from lockdown.

“Alongside a number of new business wins, existing clients are increasing what they do with us, and we’re organically growing our offering so that we’re a full service digital marketing agency.

“The arrival of Dylan and Myles helps us to do just that and we’re looking forward to seeing their impact on the business as we grow to the next level.”
