Vehicle auctioneer hits the road with fleet of car transporters

Yorkshire’s G3 Vehicle Auctions has launched a new fleet of specialist multi-car transporters.

It is the first phase of significant logistic expansions required to support the growth of the company’s state-of-the-art marketplace, which opened in Castleford earlier this year.

The initial half a million pound investment in three 21 plate DAF CF340 6-car transporters and the addition of 10 new team members from the local area into the G3 business will accommodate the firm’s growing vendor roster and its use of G3’s strategic network of more than 30 storage centres across the UKk.

The strategic acquisition will deliver improved efficiencies in vehicle movements, customer service delivery and commercial economics.

Each of the distinctive red and white G3 vehicles feature sleeper cabs and are fitted with four of the latest Brigade 4G-live cameras to assist and protect both the drivers and the trucks while on the road.

The second phase of the fleet will see multiple two-vehicle transporters added, which are currently in production and due to be delivered to G3 in the coming weeks.

These units, along with the new six-cars transporters, have winch capability allowing all vehicle types to be recovered without the need to use third party suppliers.

To oversee the expansion of the logistics team, a dedicated transport manager has been recruited in the shape of Steve Morton, who joins G3 having spent more than 25 years running a significant transporter fleet for the UK’s largest auction company.

Morton said: “We are all excited to welcome this fleet into the business and we have already received plenty of great feedback from customers in the first week of operating.

“The addition of these impressive new trucks, alongside the new drivers and myself to the team is just the start of the expansion plans the company have for the future and being based out of this fantastic new auction centre in Castleford shows how G3 are perfectly placed to serve the whole of the UK with ease.”

This investment is expected to help the business reach its target of having 50,000 vehicles a year pass through its new Castleford centre.
