Community Foundation Spotlight
Andrew Maeer is CEO of Amsource, a recruitment consultancy firm specialising in the software development industry and a new member of Leeds Community Foundation.
He caught up with TheBusinessDesk.com to talk about Amsource’s involvement with Leeds Community Foundation and how becoming a member fit with its values.
“Equality and opportunity are at the heart of what we do, and being able to utilise the skills and expertise of our team and business on a voluntary basis to support the amazing work of the Foundation is a shared goal that we’re fully committed to.”\\
Like many of the members Maeer explained how he sees it as crucial that Leeds is a city with opportunities for all and how the pandemic has heightened the need to recognise the inequality gaps that already exist.
“As a collective, we want to see people from all backgrounds and walks of life being given the opportunity, knowledge and access to the resources and institutions that will help set them up to succeed.
“The pandemic has helped tighten our focus on the work we do within the community and been a timely reminder of how fortunate we are to have a business that has come through such a trying time and succeeded on the other side.”
He added that looking ahead he and the Amsource team aspire to help make more of a difference as well as wanting to encourage others to become join and support the work of Leeds Community Foundation.
“As a new member of Leeds Community Foundation, we’re looking forward to playing an active role in bettering our city and giving back to the areas that most need support.
“The more members we have that want to contribute to Leeds Community Foundation in a meaningful way, the better.”
