A pair of West Yorkshire breweries have begun shipping their products to Sweden.

Beers from Saltaire Brewery and Ilkley Brewery will be stocked in stores across Sweden in response to rising local demand for Yorkshire-made beer.

Securing this deal has meant the two businesses are shipping across 75,000 bottles between them.

Saltaire Brewery is supplying its Classic British Bitter, made using a traditional recipe from entirely UK produced ingredients.

And Ilkley Brewery is providing a beer called Joshua Jane – named in reference to the famous Yorkshire folk song “On Ilkla Moor Baht ‘at” – and made through the blending of five UK grown hops.

Saltaire Brewery, which produces bottled and canned beers, is based in Shipley and was established by Tony Gartland in 2005.

Products from Ilkley Brewery, founded in 2009, are now stocked in most British supermarkets and are also exported to at least 13 countries.
