Land snapped up for next phase of residential project

Housebuilder Yorkshire Country Properties (YCP) has acquired land to deliver more homes for a second phase of development on land in Shepley, Kirklees.

The second phase of the existing Knowle Grange site, on Abbey Road, will add another 52 houses to the development, increasing the total overall site to 83 homes.

Phase one is set to complete later this year, with phase two completion expected in 2023/4.

Phase two of Grange Knowle will comprise one to five bedroom properties, including starter homes.

The Starter Homes initiative is a Government scheme being implemented by Kirklees Council to make home ownership more affordable to younger people and people from the armed forces.

Yorkshire Country Properties formed a joint venture with the Dominvs Group last year to enable it to scale up its operation across Yorkshire. The company is currently onsite on various sites in the Holme Valley with further developments in the pipeline.

Expansion in Yorkshire will form a part of Dominvs’ strategy to further grow its development portfolio beyond London by partnering with best-in-class developers. Founded in 2011, it has a development pipeline of over £1.7bn.

Stewart Brown, managing director of Yorkshire Country Properties, said: “We will start work on phase two in the coming months, which will complement the success we’ve had with the first phase of Knowle Grange and create more high-quality homes for the village.

“Shepley is a picturesque and vibrant village with great connections and a wide range of amenities.”

Ian Trinder, CFO at Dominvs Group, added: “We’re delighted to see Yorkshire Country Properties maintain its rapid momentum with this new land deal.

“They have made a name for themselves as high-quality developers of beautifully designed homes in lively and liveable locations, such as Shepley.”
