People: LCF Law; JMG Group; 6B; and more

A solicitor with more than two decades of experience in dealing with all aspects of family and matrimonial law has joined Yorkshire-based LCF Law.

Rachel Baul is known for working on high-net-worth financial cases which involve people who have businesses and trust assets in the UK and overseas.

Her knowledge of agricultural valuations, subsidies, inheritance considerations, and how the courts approach these matters, means she regularly represents farming clients.

She has experience dealing with cases involving significant and complex financial assets on and offshore, and she regularly represents sportspeople and medical professionals.

Baul said: “My role is to resolve financial issues and disputes when relationships break down and protect assets as people embark on new relationships.

“Helping people divide businesses and pensions when divorcing or ending a civil partnership can be very complicated, as is making practical and financial arrangements for children.

“I’m here to make things as straightforward as possible and achieve the best possible outcome for my client.”

Managing partner, Simon Stell, said: “Rachel is a tenacious and pragmatic solicitor who is also very approachable.

“She’s renowned for providing quality advice throughout a process that can often be stressful and difficult.

“Many clients come to Rachel through personal recommendation, and she is a welcome addition that will help us to continue to grow our family law offering throughout Yorkshire.”

Baul is a former president of Harrogate & District Law Society.

PCL sales director, Simon Shorter, has retired from his role in charge of End User and OEM sales at the Sheffield-based pneumatic components business to spend more time with his family.

He joined PCL in 2005 after gaining an MBA at Manchester Business School and following seven years working in city finance and undertaking senior sales and marketing roles at various companies.

His expertise and experience have enabled him to achieve substantial growth in sales and profitability for the company, with significant expansion on the international marketplace for PCL’s products, setting up operations in China, India and the US among others.

Shorter’s knowledge has secured considerable product development in PCL’s core markets of tyre inflation, petrol forecourt, N2 and pneumatics, with increasing penetration in aviation and non-tyre inflation areas.

He said: “It has been an honour to work for such a traditional yet forward-thinking company. Taking the reins as sales director for the OEM division and collaborating with excellent people has allowed me to continue to build strong teams and develop overseas operations with the expertise required to continue driving the business forward.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at PCL, building customer and supplier relationships as well as friendships around the world. I will be leaving PCL in the very capable hands of our sales and marketing director, Lee Wright.”

Wright said: “Simon has made an enormous contribution to the company’s advancement and international development.

“His passion and in-depth knowledge of the industry have taken the PCL brand from strength-to-strength. We will be sorry to see him leave us and wish him a well-earned and happy retirement.”
