City briefs: Tracsis and DFS

Tracsis, which provides software, hardware, and data analytics services for the transport industry, has forecast a revenue rise in its trading update for the six months ended 31 January 2022.

The Leeds-based company says trading for the first half of the year has been in line with Board expectations.

Group revenue is expected to have increased to about £29m (H1 2021: £22.2m), which includes a strong post-Covid lockdown recovery of activities in the firm’s Events and Traffic Data business units.

In the Rail Technology and Services Division, Tracsis has won several multi-year rail technology software contracts including its first multi-year contract in the rail freight sector for its TRACS Enterprise product suite.

EBITDA is expected to have increased by around 10% (H1 2021: £5.4m). And cash balances remain strong at around £25m (H1 2021: £20.8m) which will enable the Group to continue investing in its technology base while pursuing a growing pipeline of acquisition opportunities.

The Group’s interim results will be announced on 7 April 2022.

Doncaster-based DFS, a retailer of living room and upholstered furniture, has signed a retail partnership with bedding brand eve Sleep.

Initially the partnership will cover the dfs.co.uk website, which receives an average 2.7m unique visitors per month.

There are also plans to extend the partnership to the DFS showroom estate later in the year.

DFS will stock a range of eve mattresses, including eve’s Original and Premium Hybrid models, as well as a range of eve bedframes. Plans are in place to extend the ranges at a later date.

The partnership is expected to drive profitable sales, raise eve’s brand and product awareness with its target customer base, and offer DFS customers additional mattress options to choose from, to accompany its bedroom furniture ranges.

John Rastall, head of DFS Home, said: “Our range of bedroom furniture, including our wide choice of upholstered bedframes, is a key and growing part of our offer.

“We are pleased to be partnering with eve to add their best-in-class mattresses to our range, to support awareness of our bedroom furniture products; deliver even greater choice for our customers; and provide the opportunity for customers to conveniently add an eve mattress to their DFS furniture order.”

Cheryl Calverley, CEO of eve Sleep, added: “This is a very exciting partnership for eve as DFS seek to extend their ‘comfort’ positioning beyond the living room and bring eve’s mattresses to a wider audience.

“We’re incredibly proud to announce this partnership with the UK’s foremost furniture retailer, which recognises the strength of the eve sleep product range and brand, continuing the momentum in our UK&I business.”
