IT group expands city presence with move to Clockwise

Linley House

A Leeds-based IT group has secured a deal to acquire 10 desks in a Manchester flexible workspace as part of its growth plans in the city.

IDS-Group, an agile software development and systems integration specialist with teams operating in the UK, Europe and USA, has taken space has at Clockwise’s flexible workspace in Linley House, Dickinson Street.

The letting, which was brokered by global real estate advisor Colliers, is a relocation for the brand from SPACES co-working office at Peter House, Manchester, as IDS-Group seeks to expand its footprint in the North West.

Clockwise provides contemporary workspaces in the building that once housed an electrical station, powering the whole of Manchester city centre.

Built in 1963, Linley House is an eight-storey building which still retains some of its original features including its original Manchester red brick façade and iconic City of Manchester Electric Light Station sign.

The building offers members 24/7 access, meeting rooms and breakout areas, social amenities and dedicated office support teams.

Patrick Kennedy, associate director, Colliers UK regional flexible workspace at Colliers, who advised on the letting, said: “Clockwise’s offering at Linley House will create the perfect home for IDS-Group in terms of quality of the working environment and additional amenities both on-site and within the nearby vicinity, whilst supporting the software brand’s growth plans.”

Alasdair Moore, co-founder and CEO of IDS-Group, said: “The Northern Powerhouse concept is continuing to help IDS-Group grow throughout the North West and Manchester, in particular, has a phenomenal innovative culture and surrounding area, along with a great talent pool for hiring.

“In addition, the city has good transport links, making it more accessible for our employees, clients, partners and suppliers to work more collaboratively together.”

Heather Gray, director of sales at Clockwise, said: “We are thrilled to welcome IDS to Linley House. We strive to create inspiring workspaces in cities that are both well connected and have access to incredible talent.

“We are so pleased that IDS chose us as its Northern home, as property partners for its growth journey, and we can’t wait for the company to be a part of Clockwise Manchester’s community of exceptional businesses which are leading the way in their industries.”
