New city centre tequila bar opens for business

Casual dining restaurant, Cult Wing, has opened the largest tequila bar in Leeds.

It is the latest restaurant to join the food and drink offering at the Merrion Centre, in the city’s Arena Quarter.

Cult Wing’s serving range from fried wings and gourmet burgers to craft beers and a selection of more than 200 tequilas.

Craft beers, including own-brand draft Cult Cartel, North Brew and Wilde Child beers, as well as themed cocktails will be available.

The restaurant produces its own sauces which come in a choice of nine flavours. Diners can also buy merchandise including limited edition T-shirts and enamel pins, with plans to introduce a range of hoodies, jackets, beanies, tote bags and more.

The restaurant has collaborated with local graffiti artists to create an artistic, punk-inspired space which includes more than 200 pieces of original art.

Charles Newman, associate director at Town Centre Securities PLC, owners of the Merrion Centre said: “Cult Wing really is a cool new edition to the ever-expanding restaurant scene at the Merrion Centre.

“Its casual dining offer and amazing tequila bar will be a huge draw in the city. It is perfectly located on Merrion Way opposite the first direct Arena with direct access to the growing student population.”

Denitsa Sharankova, marketing manager at Cult Wing, said: “Everyone is welcome at Cult Wing which is alternative, edgy and exploding with creative energy and we are thrilled to open our new venue in the heart of Leeds Arena Quarter.

“We can’t wait to introduce guests to our fresh food, beers, cocktails – and our extensive menu of almost 200 tequilas.”
