Homelessness charity lands Lloyds Bank Foundation funding

Homelessness charity Emmaus Leeds has secured funding from Lloyds Bank Foundation.

The charity has received a £50,000 grant from Lloyds that will fund a dedicated support worker role for the next two years.

This year Emmaus Leeds has supported 35 formerly homeless people by offering a home and work in a social enterprise.

Emmaus Leeds has been operating since 2003.

It runs a second-hand superstore and market stall as well as online shops, the proceeds of which go back into funding their work.

Lloyds Bank Foundation is an independent charitable foundation that works in partnership with small and local charities.

Gina Morrison, general manager of Leeds Emmaus, said: “The grant from the Lloyds Bank Foundation has enabled us to strengthen our staff team at Emmaus Leeds so that we can provide the best service possible for the formerly homeless people we support, and for that, we are extremely grateful.”

Lloyds Bank Foundation has awarded £16.3m in total during 2021 and supported more than 899 small and local charities.
