Hindle steps up on RICS board

ROB Hindle has been appointed to replace Colin Harrop as chairman of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ Yorkshire and Humber regional board.

Mr Hindle is director and co-founder of building and project consultancy firm, White Hindle & Partners.

Mr Hindle, who is from Craven, North Yorkshire, set up WHP in 2008 with his business partner, Carl White.

As chairman of the regional board, he will ensure the RICS Yorkshire and Humber board continues to work closely with the regional staff team to support the members and promote the profession.

The nine-person board is made up of chartered surveyors from both the public and private sectors who work in the key areas such as land, property, construction, project management, planning and infrastructure.

Mr Hindle said: “The main purpose of the chairman and regional board is to develop and ensure successful implementation of a three year rolling activity plan which forms part of the RICS UK World Regional business plan.

“Obviously, within that we have to help develop and support local RICS groups, making sure that we communicate the RICS strategy and direction.

“As a small business owner with the use of offices in Leeds, London and Manchester, I am keen to push and develop relationships with SMEs in the region. We will also be providing suitable training courses and events throughout the year which is a fabulous way of bringing together the property and construction sectors.”

Meanwhile, 39 surveyors in Yorkshire and the Humber are celebrating having achieved chartered status with RICS.

The pass rate in Yorkshire and the Humber was 60%.
