Insurance firm launches community risk business

Leeds-headquartered JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers has launched a new division following the appointment of experienced community risk insurance specialist, Gary Newlyn.

As part of the JMG Group, JM Glendinning Community Risk Solutions will help manage the risk and insurance requirements of organisations delivering services to communities, including registered providers of social housing, care providers and charities.

Newlyn joins JM Glendinning as managing director from Zurich Municipal, Zurich’s public sector business, where he led its national social housing sales and account management team.

He brings 20 years’ experience of working in the insurance industry to the position, over a decade of which was gained working with charities and some of the largest social housing providers in the UK.

He said: “Organisations providing critical services to our communities do an incredible job in ensuring our country and communities thrive.

“Our venture will help solve some of their risk and insurance problems and help to give them peace of mind, meaning that they can focus on doing more of the good work they do.
