James is a corporate finance director in the Leeds office and a member of Clearwater International’s Industrials and Chemicals team. He joined Clearwater International with 15 years’ experience in M&A, having advised on a broad range of transactions including owner-managed businesses, large corporates and private equity. Recent deals include advising LDC and Stroma on its exit to Phenna Group, advising Estio Training on its sale to BPP, in a landmark transaction that represented Palatine Impact Fund’s first exit, and advising Etex on its acquisition of Sigmat.

Amy Pierechod

Amy Pierchod
Amy is a partner within the corporate team at Gordons LLP. She specialises in advising early stage tech businesses, as well as those that invest in them. She also heads up her firm’s partnerships with NorthInvest and Fund Her North, helping to facilitate angel investment in tech within the North.

James Foster

James Foster
James heads the Shoosmiths’ private equity and venture capital group in the North (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester and Leeds) and leads the Leeds Corporate team. James specialises in corporate finance, with particular emphasis on M&A and private equity transactions, including acquisitions and divestments, venture capital, growth equity, private equity investments and joint ventures. He is recognised by clients for his hands-on and responsive approach, technical skills and commercial pragmatism. James’ client base includes acquisitive international corporates, European sponsors, PE backed investee companies and UK PE venture capital investors.

Barry Jackson

originate, execute and deliver new investment opportunities whilst at the same time retaining involvement through board interaction with his previous investments. Prior to joining BGF, Barry spent eleven years at Deloitte in Leeds including eight years in the Corporate Finance Advisory team.

Notable deals he has led include a £10m investment in Chemoxy in 2015 (sold to Novacap SAS in 2017), a £5m investment in Arcinova in 2018, exited to Quotient Sciences in 2021, a £16.2m investment in Cooplands, sold to EG Group in 2021 and a £20.3m investment in Coppergreen, acquired by CVC-backed Away Resorts in 2022.

Adrian is a director in Santander’s Structured Finance, Financial Sponsors business providing funding solutions to Private Equity backed businesses locally and across the UK. Adrian joined Santander UK Plc in 2010 to establish a presence in the

Prior to joining Santander UK Plc, Adrian was a Director in the RBS Corporate & Structured Finance business. Recent notable transactions include supporting Cairngorm Capital’s refinance and provision of financing to support future growth of National Timber Group, Equistone’s investment in Ligentia and subsequent acquisition of VGL Solid Group, Further Global Capital Management’s investment in Progeny and Livingbridge’s investment in CitNow.
