Scandinavian homeware brand to open its latest store

Danish retailer, JYSK, is set to open its newest store in Scunthorpe at Lakeside Retail Park.

It forms part of a strategy of UK expansion for the international home and garden products chain.

The new store begins trading on 17 February and will be managed by David Dodsworth. It will include more than 10,200 sq ft of floor space and will create nine job opportunities.

Ciaron Hearns, JYSK sales and marketing manager UK & Ireland, said: “JYSK Scunthorpe joins 29 stores in the UK and is our second store opening this year.

“The new store and brilliant team are ready to welcome old and new JYSK customers to explore our collection of Scandi homeware and garden furniture.”

The retailer’s next goal is to have 5,000 branches worldwide and it plans to renovate six of its UK outlets to ensure they provide the best shopping environment for customers.

JYSK notes it has enjoyed record results in the UK & Ireland during the financial year 2021/2022, increasing its turnover 11% despite tough trading conditions.
