Will Chelton has joined Sheffield-based hard-tech scale up, Tribosonics, as its new VP of Intellectual Property due to continued expansion into new markets and applications.

He is a European and UK Patent attorney with a PhD in Electrical and Electronic engineering, and has proven himself as an accomplished intellectual property (IP) strategist with over 15 years’ experience in the field.

He has spent the last decade working in-house at three of the world’s most innovative tech companies, developing and executing global IP strategies to protect their innovative products and technologies. 

Tribosonics CEO, Glenn Fletcher, said: “It’s great to welcome Will to the team. As Tribosonics continues to grow, create new applications and enter new markets, IP is ever more important and it’s exactly the right time to further increase the capacity and expertise in this part of the business, at strategic and operational levels.

As Vice President of IP, Chelton is tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive IP strategy, to drive the growth of an industry-leading IP portfolio and to work with cross-functional teams to ensure IP considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.

HDM Solar has appointed Adam Firth as its news managing director.

He will be responsible for the leadership and development of the Hull-based company’s business with a specific focus on trade and wholesale.

He will play a key role in meeting the company’s growth goals of becoming the leading solar and renewables equipment supplier to the UK consumer and trade markets.

With over eight years of experience in the electrical and renewable markets, he brings with him a strong skill set of leadership and innovation and is a highly respected name with customers and suppliers alike.

HDM Worldwide Ltd is the owner of the HDM Solar trading entity and has grown significantly since its incorporation in 2017. It is looking forward to reporting record results.

Leeds-based Legal Studio Solicitors has welcomed Sonay Erten as a contentious probate, litigation and personal injury solicitor. 

She trained and qualified at central London firm, Saracens Solicitors, and on qualification specialised in trusts and probate disputes, defamation, employment disputes and personal injury.

She continues to work in all areas of litigation, including commercial and property matters.

Having receiving Higher Rights of Audience, she has represented her clients in county courts and the High Court.

Erten joins as a junior consultant lawyer, supporting the wider litigation team and growing her own client base.

UK honeycomb brand, Mighty Fine, has appointed Olivia De Juan as brand manager.

She will be responsible for bringing innovative and creative solutions to the business as well as being involved with long-term strategic planning.

She has a passion for FMCG marketing and has previous experience working as a brand account executive at All About Food, where she worked on the Nando’s account.

Here, she focused on shopper marketing, working with retail and design agencies,  presenting brand plans to trade, and managing the trade marketing spend.

In 2022 Mighty Fine became part of the Serious Sweet Company family, based in Harrogate.

The brand has grown significantly in recent years, with handcrafted honeycomb chocolates now available in major supermarkets across the UK and in many independent retailers.

De Juan said: “I’m pleased to join Mighty Fine as brand manager. After trying the products, I instantly believed in the premium quality, the unique craft, and handmade positioning of the brand.

“Mighty Fine has a great product and unique voice and I am looking forward to working with the team, who between them have decades of experience.”
