People: Dacre, Son & Hartley; TL Dallas; Yorkshire Country Properties; and more

Less than 12 months after expanding into York then relocating to new city centre premises on Micklegate, independent estate agent, Dacre, Son & Hartley has appointed Mindy Pearson as a sales negotiator.
Pearson, who lives in Malton, has previously worked for a national estate agency group as well as marketing and managing holiday lets.
In her new role she is responsible for liaising with both buyers and sellers, as well as hosting property viewings and supporting the office’s branch manager and wider team to ensure transactions run smoothly.
She said: “Moving to Dacre, Son & Hartley is an opportunity to join a very reputable and independent business and be part of its growth in York, which makes it both a challenging and exciting role.
“York has a gem of a property market, which is largely insulated from what happens in other areas of the country, in terms of prices and activity levels, which are currently buoyant.
“This comes down to lots of factors including its leading universities and historic city centre, which is a global tourist hotspot.
“In addition, its central location in the UK, which offers regular direct rail links to the likes of London and Edinburgh, adds to its popularity.
“We’re currently marketing a mix of homes, from a stunning riverside four-bedroom terrace just off Marygate and the Museum Gardens in York city centre, to a newly refurbished four-bedroom family home with large gardens, that’s full of energy saving technology, at Linton on Ouse.
“We’re now looking forward to building on this further over the summer months.”

Yorkshire-based independent insurance broking and risk management specialist, TL Dallas, has appointed an experienced corporate account executive following a strong first quarter for its commercial division.
Sara Chapman has worked in the insurance industry for 35 years and has been in broking for the last 26 of those.
Based in Leeds for most of her career, she has worked for both independent brokers and larger corporates and has many long-standing clients from across multiple industry sectors.
She said: “I have worked for many clients in the education sector, as well as charitable organisations over the years, but I don’t specialise in just one sector or solely the Yorkshire region.
“With previous clients based from Kent to Northumberland and everywhere in between, I plan to grow my account portfolio at TL Dallas across the whole of the UK.
“Every client is different, be it a multi-academy education trust, a manufacturing business, or an individual with a varied commercial property portfolio, each needs a trusted insurance broker that understands their business and can ensure they have the most appropriate levels of cover.
“They also need to feel reassured that should the worst happen, their broker is on hand to help and because TL Dallas has its own in-house claims division, this role really appealed to me.”
TL Dallas has a 97-strong commercial team, which is based across the firm’s 12 offices throughout the UK offering a full range of insurance services. Chapman will be based at the firm’s head office in Bradford.
Commercial managing director, Tim Mortimer, said: “As we retain our long-standing clients, and win new ones, we are keen to recruit talented, experienced brokers like Sara to the business.
“In the last three years we have grown our commercial team by 43 and delivered 17% revenue growth in the first quarter, whilst never losing sight of what sets us apart from our competitors.
“We are proud of our independence and are dedicated to our people and our clients. We believe Sara will be a valuable asset to our commercial team and welcome her to the TL Dallas family.”

Paul Brown, a residential property developer in the north of England, has been appointed as managing director of Huddersfield-based Yorkshire Country Properties.
Brown, formerly the founder and MD of Caedmon Homes, has more than 35 years’ experience in the residential and commercial property sectors in Yorkshire and the North East.
He said: “This is a tremendously exciting move for me. Yorkshire Country Properties are a trailblazer in the development of beautiful, state-of-the-art houses, from starter homes to five-bed executive and family houses.
“During the past three years, the company has made a positive and focussed contribution to the housing provision in the Kirklees and West Yorkshire area.
“Apart from a completed development at Netherthong, where every single one of the 22 beautiful houses built were sold, YCP are now on site at Shepley, Skelmanthorpe and Denby Dale.
“All three of these new developments are providing much-needed housing, including a significant number of starter homes, enabling young people to get on to the property ladder.
“We are currently building 147 beautiful, high-quality homes and, in total, we are looking at a potential pipeline of over 700 new homes. Given the current uncertainty of the mortgage and financial markets, we are placing more emphasis than ever on high quality and product differentiation.”
Richard Butterfield, non-exec chairman of Yorkshire Country Properties, added: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Paul to Yorkshire Country Properties.
“This is a key appointment for us as we look to expand our portfolio of housing developments. Paul has a superb track record in residential development in Yorkshire and beyond and his extensive skillset is perfectly suited to the ethos of our company.
“In particular, his knowledge of the housing sector in Yorkshire, combined with his excellent man-management skills, makes Paul the ideal appointment.”
