BHP launches accounting advisory service following partner appointment

BHP has launched a new listed, accounting valuations and advisory service to be headed up by Alex Hird, who has joined the firm as a partner.
Hird will oversee the delivery of the new service line, providing specialist accounting advisory and financial reporting valuation expertise.
He joins BHP following a14-year career encompassing various accounting and audit roles.
The LAVA service will incorporate financial reporting advisory, IPO support, purchase price allocations, share-based payment and other financial reporting valuations, as well as annual compliance work for listed groups.
He said: “Joining BHP and launching this new service, which builds on my previous expertise, is a fantastic opportunity. BHP has more than 450 staff, including 36 partners at offices in Sheffield, Cleckheaton, Leeds, Chesterfield, and York.
