Administration looms for long-established tent manufacturer

A Bradford-based producer and supplier of tents has filed a notice to appoint an administrator.

BCT Outdoors Ltd, which has a factory in Broomfields, south of the city centre, has been trading for more than 100 years and describes itself as one of Britain’s last remaining tent makers.

Its products include marquees and shelters, a variety of camping tents commonly used by the Scouting movement, as well as glamping tents and yurts.

All the firm’s products are manufactured in Bradford, with no tents imported.

According to the company’s annual report for the year ended 31 December 2021, BCT Outdoors employed 22 people.
