Administration looms for long-established metalworks company

A West Yorkshire-based metalworks firm, which has been trading since 1947, has filed a notice to appoint an administrator.

Calder Metal Spinning Company has posted the notice via corporate recovery, insolvency and business restructuring firm Leonard Curtis.

According to the company’s full accounts made up to 27 February 2022, the business employed 32 people.

Its operations include spinning of all types of metals, using both traditional hand spinning solutions as well as automatic lathes.

The company, which describes itself as one of the oldest metal spinning companies in the UK, is based at Calder Trading Estate, in Brighouse.

It serves a variety of industry sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Food Processing and Scientific.
