Your chance to tackle top Government figure

YORKSHIRE business leaders are being given the chance to question one of the country’s most influential politicians.

Cabinet Minister Ed Balls, one of Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s closest allies and Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, is speaking at the Leeds office of law firm DWF this week and the Normanton MP has agreed to answer a question submitted by a reader of TheBusinessDesk.com.

If you have a burning issue you want put to Mr Balls then please add it in the Have Your Say box below or email it to david.parkin@thebusinessdesk.com

We will select the best question to ask Mr Balls at the event at the DWF office at Bridgewater Place in Leeds on Friday.

We will post his answer and a report of the event on the website later that day.

Mr Balls will be introduced by Frank McKenna, chairman of Downtown in Business, and will discuss a range of issues in relation to his role and to the business community in the region.

James Haddleton, executive partner of DWF in Leeds said: “In this election year, we welcome the decision of Ed Balls, a Yorkshire MP and key Government minister, to come to DWF to share his ideas for the future with our guests.

“DWF is leading the debate for business in the region and this position is strengthened by enabling the Yorkshire business community to engage with key Government decision makers like Ed Balls. Whilst the event is oversubscribed we are delighted to offer the opportunity to pose a question to him in conjunction with TheBusinessDesk.com.”
