Yorkshire Sustainability Excellence Awards launched

Forward-thinking businesses are the vanguard in efforts to combat climate change.

Whether it be large corporations investing in generating renewable energy or carbon capture technology, or small businesses ensuring their carbon footprint is as small as possible, and their packaging is biodegradable, the best Yorkshire businesses are devoted to sustainability and to minimising the impact of climate change.

TheBusinessDesk.com, in association with sponsors Clarion, Deloitte and the Swinton Estate, seeks to honour the very best of these environmental champions in the Yorkshire Sustainability Excellence Awards. Entries for the awards are open now, and close on Friday 26 January 2024.

The winners will be announced at an exclusive lunch at Swinton Park, near Ripon, on Thursday 18 April 2024. Every finalist will receive two complimentary tickets to the lunch.

Christian Hellmund, partner for energy and projects at Clarion, said, “We’re proud to be sponsoring not only the first Yorkshire-focused delivery of these awards, but also an event that emphasises how vital the implementation of effective sustainability strategies are for businesses across the globe. Sustainability in business is perhaps one of the most powerful tools we have to ensure a positive future for every generation, and sustainability as a whole is something that holds a great deal of importance to us at Clarion. We’re delighted to be able to play a part in a fantastic event that celebrates the essential nature of sustainability and those who strive to make a positive impact in the world.”

Arran Taylor, partner at Deloitte, said “We are delighted to join the independent panel judging the Yorkshire Sustainability Excellence Awards. The awards will recognise the efforts and commitment of Yorkshire’s businesses that are leading on the energy transition through their investments, innovative use of technology, and collaboration, to reduce carbon emissions and build a better future for the region.
