National property consultancy, Carter Jonas, has appointed David Beattie as partner and head of York residential sales.

Beattie has an established record in the residential sector with over 20 years of experience concentrated on the Yorkshire market.

He joins from Linley and Simpson, where he led the firm’s York office.

Before this, he was at Quantum Estate Agency, which he co-founded in 2000 and was appointed managing director in 2015.

During this time, he oversaw all aspects of the business, including sales and lettings, advising on some of the region’s most prominent residential transactions.

Additionally, Beattie was instrumental in championing new technologies and instigating internal systems, helping to streamline processes and drive efficiencies for the benefit of clients.

At Carter Jonas, he will draw on his skills and local knowledge to work with the existing team supporting clients in the sales, new homes and lettings markets in the city and its surrounding areas. Additionally, he will identify opportunities to develop Carter Jonas’ brand regionally.

Caddick Construction Group is set to enhance its operational efficiency with the appointment of Alison Brough as environmental and sustainability manager.

She joins West Yorkshire-headquartered Caddick from Willmott Dixon, where she spent nine years in various regional and national environmental management positions, more recently in a leadership role heading up the group’s environmental division.

As group environmental manager, she was responsible for shaping and structuring environmental management systems, a focus on environmental compliance that she now brings to her new role with Caddick.

She will work with the operational and pre-construction teams across Caddick Construction Group’s key regions in the North East, Yorkshire, North West and Midlands.

Also supporting the Group’s sub-contracting specialists, Caddick Civil Engineering and CCL Facades, Brough will develop new systems to drive environmental performance, developing best practice protocols and procedures as the group continues to grow.

Her career in the built environment began in 2000 following completion of an Environmental Science Degree at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen followed by an Environmental Management Masters at Ulster University.

She gained experience at environmental consultancy, RSK, for over a decade, working for a broad spectrum of sectors including industrial, off-shore and nuclear.

Andrew Jackson Solicitors has confirmed that Kirsty Barsby has joined its real estate and property team as a partner, further strengthening the firm’s client services offering across the region and beyond. 

With over 18 years’ experience across a broad range of property matters, Barsby’s clients operate across several sectors including hotel and leisure, residential and commercial development, property investment and the healthcare sector.

She regularly advises on property sales and acquisitions  including overage, option and promotion agreements and development transactions from site set up to disposal.

She also advises clients on landlord and tenant transactions, secured lending and refinancing and assists regularly with corporate support work.

Global real estate firm, Avison Young UK, has appointed director Paul Conlan who has joined the business’s Healthcare team in Leeds.  

An experienced Chartered Valuation Surveyor (MRICS), Conlan brings over 20 years of experience in various commercial environments, leading teams in inspecting, measuring and producing new or existing valuations over different properties and uses. 

Prior to his new role, he worked at GP Surveyors for over 10 years where he served as operations director from 2015, responsible for running the day-to-day activity and teams.

At GP Surveyors, he specialised in healthcare and represented GP practices, including analysing and interpreting transactional evidence and advising clients for a variety of purposes.

Since 2021, he has managed the NHSPS lease advisory contract at Eddisons, with core services include negotiating rent reviews and new leases and providing rental valuation advice.

Conlan began his career at Lothian Valuation Joint Board (LVJB), where he started on a youth training scheme.

During his time here his duties primarily involved council tax work, and inspecting, measuring and valuing the commercial properties in a geographical area.

At Avison Young, he will be responsible for a variety of workstreams within the Healthcare team, dealing with lease advisory, rent reviews, PHP insurer, medical and weight point.
