Tricycle retailer unveils new showroom and test track

Jorvik Tricycles has opened a new showroom, tricycle workshop and indoor test track in Wheldrake, York.

The 6,000 sq ft showroom, at Millfield Industrial Estate, features an indoor test track, complete with traffic lights and a zebra crossing.

Founder and managing director James Walker set up Jorvik Tricycles 10 years ago following his father’s Parkinson’s diagnosis, which impacted his personal independence.

Wanting to help his father rediscover his freedom, Walker created a product to help him discover a new, safe way of getting around.

Jorvik Tricycles currently produces electric tricycles across a range of 11 different models, including road-safe tricycles and mountain trikes for tougher terrain.

Walker said: “Our unique indoor test track will give customers the opportunity to test ride our trikes all year round, no matter the weather. 

“We hope this new showroom will help us continue to offer a bespoke and personalised service to our customers.

“I can’t wait to see the track being used and to give our customers an immersive experience to try out the full range of tricycles.”
