Business of the Year: International Trade in the spotlight

International trade brought £29.3bn into Yorkshire and the Humber’s economy in 2021, the most recent regional figures from the Office of National Statistics – £17.1bn in goods exports, and £12.2bn in services.
The exports helped offset £36.1bn in imports.
If finance is the lifeblood of business, trade is its heart, and the Yorkshire Business of the Year Awards will celebrate those businesses that are entering new markets or achieving significant growth in existing ones.
Last year’s winner, scientific instrument maker LabLogic, demonstrated a genuinely global reach, even providing instruments to scientists in Antarctica. It also showed success in opening up new export markets in Central and South America and Africa.
The Yorkshire Business Awards are sponsored by Tudor International Freight, RBC Brewin Dolphin, and Verlingue, with Campaigner as principal partner. Nominations close this Friday, 5 July, so download your entry forms and get them by the end of the day.
Site visits to decide the shortlist will take place between 3 September and 22 November. Each shortlisted company will then be invited to give a presentation in Leeds in January 2025 to the judging panel who will select the category winners.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner at New Dock Hall on 20 February 2025.
