Business of the Year Awards: impacting the community
Businesses cannot exist in isolation, and the Yorkshire Business of the Year Awards will recognise and celebrate those companies who demonstrate real commitment to creating positive impacts in the wider community.
Community impact goes beyond corporate social responsibility. It’s about businesses actively engaging in their communities, recognising that their company’s wellbeing is intrinsically linked to that of the community around them and acting on that.
Last year’s winner, South Yorkshire environmental consultancy Enzygo, helped plant deciduous trees in the Don Valley as part of efforts to boost the area’s natural flood management. Not only did the project help a local landowner and help reduce the liklihood of flooding in the area, the firm found it had a positive impact on staff mental health an wellbeing.
The firm is also an active school enterprise advisor, helping high school students with career development through mock interviews, project assessment, networking and careers events.
The Yorkshire Business Awards are sponsored by Tudor International Freight, RBC Brewin Dolphin, and Verlingue, with Campaigner as principal partner. Nominations close this Friday, 5 July, so download your entry forms and get them by the end of the day.
Site visits to decide the shortlist will take place between 3 September and 22 November. Each shortlisted company will then be invited to give a presentation in Leeds in January 2025 to the judging panel who will select the category winners.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner at New Dock Hall on 20 February 2025.
