Business of the Year: calling the innovators
Innovation drives progress by introducing new ideas, products, and solutions. It enhances efficiency, fosters economic growth, and addresses societal challenges, ensuring sustainable development and competitive advantage in a rapidly changing world.
Yorkshire and Humber has no shortage of innovators – from university spin-outs and start-ups built around creative new ideas, to long-established firms creating new processes and products. The region has developed as a hub for advanced manufacturing, health and biotech, digital technology, carbon capture and renewable energy.
The innovation award recognises and celebrates those firms driving change, disrupting their sector – and wider society – and building a more exciting future through their creative efforts.
Last year’s innovation category winner was Synthotech, a Harrogate firm whose robotic technology identifies and repairs leaks in underground pipes. The firm clearly demonstrates a commitment to R&D and innovation to develop world-class products.
The Yorkshire Business of the Year Awards are sponsored by Tudor International Freight, RBC Brewin Dolphin, and Verlingue, with Campaigner as principal partner. Nominations close this Friday, 5 July, so download your entry forms and get them by the end of the day.
Site visits to decide the shortlist will take place between 3 September and 22 November. Each shortlisted company will then be invited to give a presentation in Leeds in January 2025 to the judging panel who will select the category winners.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner at New Dock Hall on 20 February 2025.
