Housebuilding giant wins consent for dozens of homes

Housebuilder Persimmon has secured planning permission for 92 new homes in Brompton on Swale after North Yorkshire Council officially approved the properties.

Homes will range from two to four-bedrooms and include bungalows, terraced, semi-detached and detached houses to suit the needs of local families, first-time buyers, and downsizers.

37 properties (40%) will either be transferred to a local housing association or sold at a reduced market rate.

This includes: nine First Homes, 14 homes sold at discount to market value and 14 affordable rent homes.

Over £300,000 of funding will also be provided for local education provision.

The development will provide over three acres of public open space and be equipped with an on-site play area as well as new pedestrian links to the existing Augustus Gardens estate.

Richard Holland, land and planning director at Persimmon Teesside, said: “We’re pleased to receive approval for 92 new homes in Brompton on Swale.

“This development will provide a wide range of high-quality and sustainable new homes for local homebuyers with excellent access to local amenities.”
