Leadership Awards success helped put Synetiq on the map

If the business you work in is helping us build a sustainable world, get the recognition you deserve by entering 2025 Leadership Awards in the Green category.

That’s what Tom Rumboll did last year and this March he walked off with a prize that meant so much to him and his company.

Doncaster-based Synetiq buys cars that have been written off and dismantles them so the reusable parts are sold on to garages to be put back into vehicles. It also created a system to monitor its own Co2 output.

“Personally I was super proud,” said Tom. “Certainly everyone in the business was super pleased.

“It was a real validation of the company strategy, which is putting sustainability at the heart of the business. Synetiq has won lots of industry awards but what was really good about the Leadership Awards was it was not industry specific.

“You are in a room with other great regional companies and you are able to share with them what the business does. We were able to transcend our sector.”

That exposure is crucial for companies like Synetiq, in a sector that is relatively unknown, filling a specific niche that most people still haven’t heard of.

He added: “It was great to be given that platform and that bit of airtime and highlight the fact we reuse things that would otherwise be wasted.

“It felt like another step on the journey to making Synetiq more well known regionally and more well known for the right reasons.”

As Tom outlined, winning one of our awards can make a deep impact for so many different types of business so visit our awards website and get the recognition you deserve. See below for the full list of categories.

We’ve also added three more categories for next year’s showpiece, sponsored by First Event, so if you work in hospitality, education or manufacturing, you could be the one carrying off an inaugural prize at The Royal Armouries in Leeds on March 20th.

You have until November 8th to submit your entry and the shortlisted entrants will be announced in January.
