Interior design specialist scores with Premier League contract
Leeds-based commercial interior design specialist, DT Sports, has created four new hospitality suites for Premier League club Nottingham Forest FC at its City Ground stadium.
DT Sports, part of interior design consultancy Design Tonic, was appointed to create the new premium guest experience spaces to help reposition the club’s hospitality offer with new facilities for the 2024/25 football season.
The club has made a multi-million pound investment into four hospitality suites called, McGovern’s Lounge, Trentside, The Garibaldi Lounge and Founders 1865 to provide a combined capacity of 1,000 covers and offer premium hospitality facilities to enhance the matchday experience.
The new facilities have all been equipped with audio-visual equipment to enable the spaces to also be used for non-matchday functions in line with the club’s vision to operate the stadium all year round.
Trentside, formerly known as The Legends Lounge, has been transformed to create an expansive open plan lounge with views over the River Trent.
It provides one of the biggest hospitality spaces in Nottingham with capacity for over 550 guests. It can also be used on non-match days for conferences, black tie events, Christmas parties and special occasion events.
Founders 1865 is the club’s newly designed premium hospitality restaurant.
The new look dining room features booth seating to help maximise seating capacity, a premium drinks wall display and a new luxury al la carte pre match menu.
The Garibaldi Lounge is a new space created to deliver a premium sports bar hospitality experience, with a rolling buffet style dining service delivered pre match and at least 10 screens showing multiple sports channels.
McGovern’s Lounge is an intimate hospitality space created from a previously unused section of the Brian Clough stand.
It offers a relaxed pre-match dining experience and a complimentary bar.
Nottingham Forest FC chief operating officer, Paul Bell, said: “At the end of last season the club set out it’s clear objective to overhaul the facilities at The City Ground to create Premier League hospitality experiences for our guests to enjoy.
“Working alongside the team at DT Sports we were able to create a clearly defined hierarchy of differentiated offers, transforming established facilities and reimagining unused spaces within the stadium to create a diverse range of lounges each with a unique personality.
“The reaction from guests since we opened the new facilities at the start of the 2024-25 Premier League season has been phenomenal.”
DT sports, a specialist division of Design Tonic, was set up earlier this year specifically to cater for the company’s ever expanding sports design projects.
Design Tonic co-founder and director, Amanda Cook, said: “Sports hospitality is fast becoming a huge area of growth for us, and we are happy to be appointed by Premier League Nottingham Forest on these high-profile projects.
“They were great fun to design, with each suite having its own unique style and personality and the team did a stellar job of delivering all four in a short timescale to have them ready for the start of the new football season.”
