Consortium acquires modular buildings company

Modular buildings supplier, POD Space UK, has been acquired by an investor consortium.

POD Space UK, which is based in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire, was founded by Michelle and Ben Lord in 2007. It delivers both domestic and commercial modular buildings across the UK.

The acquisition sees the investor consortium, which includes entrepreneurs Gregor Dobbie, Dave Kendrick, Pete Williams and Max Henderson, take majority control of the business.

They will work alongside the founders and management team to further scale and develop the company.

Dobbie said: “We are pleased to have acquired the business from Ben and Michelle who have built a leading business in the modular building space.

“We believe there is an opportunity to really scale this both in the home improvement market with many people now keen to have additional space in their gardens, as well as the commercial market whereby cost-effective property solutions become more favourable.”

Ben and Michelle Lord added: “The acquisition presents an exciting opportunity for POD Space to work with a new management team who share the core values and vision for growth across the residential and commercial sectors.

“This is an exciting new venture and one that we are confident has secured a bright future for POD Space.”
