Pret A Manger launches within city regeneration development

Coffee and food chain, Pret A Manger, has returned to Sheffield city centre.

It has opened a branch in Sheffield City Council’s Heart of the City redevelopment project.

The new unit is on the ground floor of the Isaacs Building on Cambridge Street and will be managed by franchise partner, Exultant Group.

Creating 15 new jobs and providing 38 internal seats and 20 external seats, the new Pret shop will offer its freshly made menu and organic Arabica coffee.

Councillor Ben Miskell, chair of the Transport, Regeneration and Climate Policy Committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Pret A Manger back to Sheffield city centre and to our fantastic Heart of the City development.

“We have always had the ambition to have high calibre businesses fill the units and this is yet another example of us achieving that.

“Sheffield is changing, with the city centre becoming a cleaner, green and more thriving place to live, work and enjoy.

“With the addition of Pret, it means people will have even more choice when they’re looking for something to eat.”

Since opening its first shop in 1986, Pret A Manger has grown to more than 700 shops globally, around 490 of which are in the UK.

Mizan Syed, chief executive officer of Exultant Group, said: “We’re pleased to be bringing Pret to Cambridge Street.

“We know Pret’s freshly made food and organic coffee are popular here, so we’re happy to be opening a new shop with lots of seating for customers to comfortably enjoy their Pret favourites. We can’t wait to welcome customers when we open our doors.”

Andrew Davison, project director at Queensberry, added: “As a prime high street eatery, it’s fantastic to welcome Pret back to Sheffield city centre in our Heart of the City development.

“Complementing our other food and drink venues that have opened in the area, the new Pret store with its grab-and-go offer brings something new to the scheme for both residents and office developments.”
