Property group Eddisons has appointed Nick Foster as its new head of health and safety.

Working across the firm’s Building Consultancy team and with a strong focus on its education-sector clients, Foster will be based in the company’s Leeds head office with a national remit to oversee health and safety compliance and ensure best practice across every design and construction project.

He joins with more than three decades’ experience in the construction sector, including 15 years as a health and safety professional, working for major contractors and Leeds Beckett University.

Headed by regional managing partner Ian Harrington, Eddisons’ Building Consultancy division includes a specialist education team which works as a key adviser to schools and colleges across the UK on making successful applications to secure Government funding for building improvement projects.

Eddisons also project manages the school improvement projects, this year overseeing more than £40m of improvement projects for academy trusts.

Harrington said: “We are really pleased to have Nick on board. As health and safety legislation continues to evolve and become ever more complex, his wealth of knowledge and proactive approach will be instrumental as we continue to grow our building consultancy services, particularly in the education sector.

York-based Pryers Solicitors has strengthened its Court of Protection (CoP) team with the appointment of solicitors Sian Thompson and Shanice Blackwood-Martin and paralegal Zoe Gospel.

With almost 30 years of legal experience, Thompson brings extensive expertise in handling the settlements from high-value compensation cases.

Her work as a CoP deputy and professional trustee on personal injury cases strengthens Pryers’ ability to manage complex deputyship cases. 

She said: “Pryers has an excellent reputation for managing high-net-worth injury trust and deputyship cases, and I am happy to be part of this experienced team.

“The firm’s specialist environment will allow me to offer clients a service that’s second to none, supporting them in making positive changes after receiving compensation.”

Blackwood-Martin brings six years of experience to the Pryers team. Her appointment enhances its ability to offer a focused, client-centred approach, especially for families dealing with long-term injury cases.

She said: “I’m passionate about mental capacity law and supporting people with managing their legal and financial affairs during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.” 

Gospel has been appointed as a CoP paralegal, having joined Pryers in 2021 as part of the clinical negligence and personal injury enquiry team.

Her experience in handling personal injury claims has given her valuable insight into the emotional and practical challenges families face after life-changing injuries.

She said: “I’m excited to work closely with clients and their families, supporting them through CoP processes and helping them move forward.”

Ethoss Regeneration Ltd, based in Silsden, West Yorkshire, has revealed a new role.

The firm is the creator of the EthOss® Bone Graft, a fully synthetic material used in dental implant procedures that promotes the natural healing process and is completely free from animal products.

The creation of the sales director role celebrates the business’s recent expansion including entering the Czech Republic, Greece and Costa Rica markets, but also marks the business’s ambition for rapid future growth.

New sales director, Joe Harrison, will lead the business into some of the world’s largest dental markets in the next 12 months.

He has accepted the promotion from his previous role as sales manager within the business.

He joined the company back in 2017 and has been responsible for it reaching some of its largest global markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Harrison said: “It’s exciting to be stepping up into this brand-new role, to me and the business. There is so much scope for our small business to really disrupt the dental market and become a major player.

“As I get to grips with the new role, I want to develop a comprehensive strategy that allows the business to meet its ambitious growth plans, expanding into new markets that really allows our small business to shine amongst giants.

France+Associates (F+A), a Huddersfield based firm, specialising in bespoke accessible homes for injured individuals, has promoted Amy Hines to director and Matthew Carter to senior architectural technologist.
