Forestry and timber group to grow its Hull operation with third site
BSW Group has confirmed it will invest significantly in its BSW Timber Solutions and Bayram Timber sites in Melton, near Hull, where it will ramp up production and enhance IT infrastructure.
Following recent investments in a new automated crosscutting line, BSW will now be expanding into a third Melton site, where a new 100km3 capacity per annum treatment tank will be located.
Spending on this additional site, along with improvements to IT operating platforms, is designed to create a significantly enhanced offering for BSW’s existing and potential customer base.
The Bayram site, which has operated for over 20 years and supplies timber products to industrial end users, such as the caravan manufacturing market, will also benefit from continued investment as part of the Binderholz Group.
As part of Binderholz, the wider BSW business provides flexibility and capability to adapt and design timber products to suit every business or project.
The trading assets and liabilities of Bayram Timber will also be merged into BSW Timber Solutions with effect from April 2025. There will be no change to the day-to-day operations of BSW Timber Solutions or Bayram.
Bruce McKay, managing director of BSW Timber Solutions, said: “We are pleased to announce these exciting plans for investment and expansion, setting us up for ongoing success.
“As always, we will continue to innovate, deliver on the existing values of the business, and offer the most comprehensive range of timber products available in the UK.”
