Planned green energy terminal wins development consent

An application for an Immingham Green Energy Terminal (IGET) has been granted development consent by the Government’s Secretary of State for Transport.
The project comprises a new liquid bulk import terminal and associated processing facility, which is to deliver a green hydrogen production facility.
Imported ammonia will be stored and processed at the site to create green hydrogen, for onward transport to filling stations throughout the UK.
Key part of the project comprise a new approach trestle, jetty superstructure and topside infrastructure and land side processing infrastructure.
Associated British Ports (ABP) wants to construct, operate and maintain the new green energy terminal, which would be located on the eastern side of the Port of Immingham.
Once operational the terminal should contribute to the Humber 2030 Vision, where the Humber Energy Board is working to decarbonise the Humber and delivering clean energy for the future.
