Cellhire, a York-headquartered specialist in Internet-of-Things (IoT), mobile and data connectivity and communication solutions, has appointed former Arkessa leader Royston Hoggarth as chairman.
Hoggarth steps into the shoes of Tim Williams, who founded Cellhire in 1987 and assumes the role of non-executive director.
Hoggarth said: “Tim built Cellhire into a global brand for business and the main international sporting events, FIFA and Rugby World Cups and Olympics included.
“His unwavering dedication, entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional leadership skills have been the cornerstone of Cellhire’s success, and set a strong foundation for future growth.”
Williams added: “I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished over the past 38 years, growing Cellhire into a globally recognised business.
“Along the way, we have achieved many significant milestones – from receiving the Queen’s Award for International Enterprise to keeping over 1,500 NHS England COVID vaccination centres connected with our IoT solutions during the pandemic, and enhancing the transparency of UK General Election vote counts with our connectivity solutions.

Hoggarth’s background includes holding roles at IoT operator Arkessa, which was sold in December 2020 for £105m.
He has held leadership roles at private equity-backed firms across his career including Northgate Public Services Limited and the Innovation Group (IG).
Hoggarth was also chair of England and GB hockey until the end of 2024.

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed Leeds-based partner Andrea Jones to a new role as national head of private client advisory services.
The new team brings together the firm’s estate planning, trusts, powers of attorney, will-writing, probate, wealth protection and succession planning expertise.
Jones has 20 years’ experience in private client law. She specialises in advising families, business owners and entrepreneurs on pre and post death succession planning.
She established the non-contentious private client team at the firm’s Leeds office when joining Irwin Mitchell in 2018, expanding to Newcastle and the North East in 2021 and became a partner in 2020.
She is actively involved in STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and was a committee member for STEP Yorkshire for 12 years.
Ros Bever was appointed as managing partner for the growing Private Client Group at Irwin Mitchell in 2024 which has more than 300 colleagues and 49 partners. The team is made up of:
- Family Law led by Clare Wiseman
- Tax, Trusts and Compliance led by Ashley Hill
- Will, Trust, and Estate Disputes led by Paula Myers
- A specialist High Net Worth and International team led by Claire Marie-Cornford
- Residential Property led by Garrath Reayer
- And the new Private Client Advisory team led by Andrea Jones.

Leeds-based law firm Tyr’s growing corporate team has recruited experienced Yorkshire corporate partner Giles Clegg.
He brings over 20 years of experience to support the team with Tyr’s expanding client-base.
He advises on a wide range of mergers and acquisitions, management buy-outs, group reorganisations and investments.
Over the last decade he has acted for a number of private equity backed businesses on portfolio acquisitions and disposals.
Clegg will join the corporate team headed by partner Chris Blantern.

Sheffield-based pharmaceutical company, B Braun Medical, says its HR director, Helene Ghosh, has been honoured with the title of Freeman of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire Sheffield.
Ghosh has been an integral part of B Braun’s leadership team and has consistently demonstrated a keen interest in promoting Yorkshire heritage.
This recent achievement recognises her commitment to excellence and her efforts within the community and industry.
The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, established in 1624, helps maintain the standards of Sheffield-manufactured products and promotes the interests of the manufacturing industry in the region.
