Property people: Hethertons Solicitors and Torsion

York-based Hethertons Solicitors has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Khal Shahjahan as associate director.

Shahjahan brings over 25 years of experience in property law to the firm, having joined from Berwins Solicitors.

With experience in residential, commercial and agricultural property, including property finance and refinancing transactions, business leases and investment portfolios, he will bring his skills and in-depth knowledge of the property sector to the firm, which continues to grow its presence in Yorkshire.

Based in both the Boroughbridge and York offices, he will also be supporting with business development.

Leeds-based property business, Torsion Group, has appointed Tony Bray as investment and development director.

With over 35 years’ experience in the property sector, he has expertise in managing the full life cycle of property development, from origination through to deal closure.

His background spans a wide range of urban property classes, with a particular focus on Build-to-Rent (BtR), Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and office developments. 

In his new role, Bray will lead Torsion’s investment and development strategy, drawing on his strategic insight and industry knowledge.
