‘Interested parties’ sought for major city centre redevelopment

Hull City Council says it is now welcoming expressions of interest in the redevelopment of Albion Square.
This is intended to give interested parties more information about the site and development opportunity.
It is also meant to give businesses a chance to share their outline ideas for the site, ahead of the formal procurement process and appointment of a lead development partner later this year.
The council says its primary objective for Albion Square is to transform a derelict but strategically positioned city centre site into a “high-quality mixed-use residential, commercial, leisure and cultural development.”
It explains this prominent location has a wider significance for the future economy of Hull.
Gillian Osgerby, interim assistant director for major projects and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said: “It is exciting that the Albion Square project has reached the stage where we can open discussions with prospective lead developers.
“There is so much great potential for the site, which is in a key city centre location. We look forward to hearing from interested parties and their aspirations for the development.”
