String of new lettings signed for space in town centre

Barnsley Market has welcomed five more traders to its indoor market.
Two businesses, Stitch Express and Reena Jewellers, have relocated from the Alhambra Shopping Centre.
Stitch Express brings 25 years of trading experience to the market. The family-run business offers clothes alteration, a tailor service and curtain making. Reena Jewellers provides a range of jewellery such as watches, rings and more.
Caroline Poskett, owner of florists Anthophila which opened in December 2023, has expanded her business’s offer and has launched a salon, drawing on her 21 years of experience as a hairdresser. Anthophila Hair is now open near the flower shop on the top floor of Barnsley Market.
A men’s clothing stall, Connection Clothing, has opened on the ground floor.
There has also been an addition to Barnsley’s food hall, Market Kitchen. Bento will be serving up traditional Chinese and Japanese food from Monday to Saturday between 11am to 8pm.
Councillor Robin Franklin said, “Barnsley Market is thriving and it’s wonderful to see businesses stay and expand in our bustling town centre, something our new Inclusive Economic Growth Strategy is helping to achieve.
“The market remains a vital part of Barnsley, providing a space for local businesses to grow and for residents to enjoy a variety of shopping and dining experiences.
“The new stalls will enhance Barnsley Market’s lively atmosphere and reinforce its importance to the Barnsley community.”
