Dutch contract for W Denis

A FIVE year contract to provide point-of-sale insurance for 260 shops in The Netherlands has been secured by W Denis Insurance Brokers.

The type of deal, known as “binding authority business”, is normally arranged in the London market but W Denis was the first broker outside London to be fully accredited to place business directly into Lloyd’s.

Director Mark Dutton said: “The insurance we are providing covers gadgets such as ipads, iphones and other similar smart phones and tablet computers, against certain risks which are not already covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.”

The signing of the contract has contributed to belief  that Leeds-based W Denis Group will achieve record growth this year.

Group chief executive Allan Thew said: “We are now on track to pass £100m annual premiums under our control, which is a record in the history of our group.”
