String of deals for GVA

DEALS to bring five firms to prime business park space have been sealed by property consultant GVA.
The office team at the Leeds-based consultancy has worked with real estate specialists Frogmore Property to secure a 15 year lease with Handelsbanken to bring it to 6 Flemming Court in Glasshoughton, Castleford.
The Swedish bank, which has more than 100 branches in the UK, has taken on the 1,650 sq ft property at Flemming Court as a satellite office for clients to meet its bank managers.
Other businesses based at the development include Pyramid 8 Recruitment and bearings manufacturers Timken.
The deal with Handelsbanken leaves the site with just two vacant units.
In other deals, GVA attracted three businesses – Laserprint, SureCare Community Services (Scarborough) and insurance brokers Bluefin to Manor Court office complex at Scarborough Business Park.
The firms join HSBC, Handelsbanken, Practical Network Solutions and NFU Mutual at the seaside town’s only dedicated B1 business park.
The deals were secured for the business park’s owners Gladman Development in partnership with joint agents PPH Commercial and Iain Simpson and Co.
Meanwhile, GVA has also let Unit 6 in Navigation Court at Calder Park in Wakefield to Boston Healthcare on a five year lease.
Dan Hodge, associate in GVA’s office team, said: “Prime office space in Yorkshire’s premier business parks remains an attractive proposition and such opportunities undoubtedly exist at these sites in Wakefield and Scarborough. GVA continues to work with partners to deliver good deals for both developers and businesses in this tough economic climate.”
Glenn Broadbent from Laserprint added: “This is an exciting opportunity, enabling us to grow the business in a far more attractive environment than the town centre. We are already recruiting new staff.”
