Growth sparks move for HGF

TRADE mark attorneys Harrison Goddard Foote has moved to larger premises as it gears up for further growth.

The firm has moved from its former office in Micklegate in York to Saviour House on St Saviourgate in the city.

HGF has grown from its launch with two attorneys in 1995 to more than 65 attorneys and solicitors and a total staff of more than 150.

The York office, which launched in 2001, has nearly tripled in size over the last four years and now boats eight attorneys, including four partners, which it says reflects  business growth in the office’s specialist areas of electronics, engineering, life sciences, chemistry and pharmaceuticals.

Nigel Sanderson, partner and head of the York office, said: “The relocation represents a return to St Saviourgate for us, where we started in 2001 before we moved to Micklegate.

“Our new offices are much bigger, providing excellent facilities for clients and staff alike and a great space for all the attorneys to work together.”

HGF and sister firm HGF Law together form one of the fastest growing, full-service intellectual property firms in the UK. As well as the York office, the firm has operations in Leeds, Sheffield, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

HGF specialises in protecting and exploiting intellectual property for research institutions, such as universities, and businesses ranging from SMEs to multinationals.
